There's no evidence which means it didn't happen right? Yep, the time has come. The big Four Zero. Next week I’ll be that age that kids can’t fathom. The age they look at and automatically think of old, grey hair, pensioner cards, wrinkles, a walking stick and false teeth. Did you grow up with the dinosaurs Uncle Benny? I’m probably being a little dramatic to be fair but I can assure you I’ve well and truly ticked the grey hair and wrinkles box. The bod is certainly a little slower and creakier than it was but other than that I’m... Read More..
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months it’s clear to see how much of an impact COVID-19 has had on all of us. In so many different ways we’ve all had to make uncomfortable adjustments and sacrifices, all in the midst of fear and not knowing what the future may hold. Even though there’s been a lot of angst, it’s also been a huge opportunity to grow and take stock of what is important to us too. A lot of positives have come out of this and to have a reality check of this... Read More..
Gaining people's trust that I can help isn't something I take lightly Generally speaking when we meet someone for the first time, our trust levels and willingness to reveal our cards are very low. This is especially the case when going into a buyer/seller situation and you’re the buyer. We’re on high alert when someone is trying to sell us something. There’s a trust barrier there. We’ve all heard the stories or had past experiences of the dodgy used car salesman selling a piece of junk or the get rich quick pyramid schemes promising something for nothing. What about the greedy money... Read More..
Appreciate what you have I assume there’s a lot of us that take for granted everyday freedoms we have and our basic ability to function as a human being. Our ability to perform daily tasks that sometimes seem so mundane and repetitive to the point where they can actually be seen as burdensome. I speak of tasks like being able to get out of bed and go to the toilet. Prepare and eat food. Shower. Speak. See. The ability to move your body unassisted from one location to another. And to have a brain functioning in a way that doesn’t... Read More..
Getting your head space right makes all the difference Studies have shown that some people would prefer electric shocks to being left alone with their thoughts. You serious? That’s absurd. However it just goes to show the challenge we face in dealing with our thoughts every minute of every day. I’ve also read that experts estimate the mind has between 50,000 - 80,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 2.500 - 3,000 thoughts per hour. An incredible amount and enough to literally drive people insane. No wonder so many of us struggle with anxiety, being alone and not having... An opportunity to look at things a little differently perhaps? The other week I touched on why we always want what we can’t have and how our mind can play games with us. I noted that we are very goal orientated and we constantly need a carrot dangling in front of us to push us, make progress or give us some sort of purpose in our lives. In line with our craving to have goals and tasks to work towards we also like to put time constraints on them too. Either by our own choice or by someone else’s. When... Read More..
