In my very first session at IFP with Ben, he was so precise with technique it was unreal! I really struggled to lift 5kg dumbbells on each arm. I remember looking around at the other girls in the class, and thought geez they are all doing such big weights in comparison to me. However, I have always believed that lifting weights would make me bulky like a body builder, not the lean toned body I wanted.
IFP really made it clear to me that many other factors contribute to weight training, such as fat loss and building lean muscle. When I left my first session, I began to think well I guess everyone starts somewhere. This still stays in my head after six months of training at IFP.
During my training I have lost five percent body fat, gained lean muscle and my strength has improved out of sight. I have set goals such as a half marathon. This is something I have always wanted to do, but didn’t know where to begin. Steve wrote me a running program to follow, on the road to achieving the half marathon.
The ongoing support is amazing from all the trainers and staff. They are always willing to touch base with you, and see if you are on track. Each trainer at IFP offers different knowledge of health and fitness for their clients, whether it is nutritional advice or improving on technique, strength or cardio.
IFP has a variety of trainers, which help to mix up exercises and workouts that benefit you and your goal. Each trainer really understands your strengths and weaknesses and is willing to alter the workout for you. IFP also offers you the opportunity to reach your goals by providing healthy weighed out meals and an InBody scanner to track your progress.
The atmosphere at IFP is very positive, fun and friendly. I wake up ready and wanting to train. Don’t get me wrong some days are harder than others. I am excited to see results, achieve goals and push to be the best possible version of myself. Joining IFP is one of the best things I have ever done, and I would encourage anyone to join.
