Several years ago I was doing my own thing in the gym. I believed I was working out really hard. But, after an initial few kilos dropped quickly, things just stalled. I would sweat my way through 20-minutes bike, 20-minutes treadmill, 20-minutes Xtrainer and finish with 10-20 minutes Stairs. I would repeat this workout nearly every day. Always trying to improve distance, resistance, and gradient. I knew I had to change something but was unsure what to do, or how to do it. Cardio was all I knew and all I had ever done in the gym.
I thought about getting a PT for a long time. I watched them all. What they did with their clients, how they did it, their interaction and the information they gave and how they gave it. There was no way I was going to waste my money on a PT that didn’t know their stuff.
Eventually I rang Ben. After our initial consult and first session I knew I had made the right choice. He listened to me and he explained things in detail. I like to break things down in to smaller achievable steps and goals and Ben has worked with me on this. He has helped me progress so much further and quicker than I would ever have done.
Ben has been instrumental in changing my life. His attention to detail, form and technique has enabled me to progress to incredible levels. I have not only changed from a cardio junkie to lifting weights like a champion. The results are amazing. The feeling of strength and moving your body in such a way cannot be compared to anything else.
Changing from cardio based to strength based training has been so much better for my body and joints as I get older. I now sleep better, move better and eat better. Maintaining my health and fitness is now no longer a chore and grind. It is part of my total being. It is how I breathe and look at life.
I have has a few injuries and health concerns and emotional dramas. Ben has been patient and accommodating through all my ups and downs. His support has been invaluable during some really hard times. Many times I was so low there was no way I wanted to go to gym or work out. Just knowing that I had a session booked with Ben helped get my butt into gear and to the gym.
I still have plenty of demons to work through but I know that no matter what, working my body will help, both physically and emotionally and I trust Ben to do that. I will get results, hit personal bets and loose kilos.
Every session is different, exciting and challenging. I am pushed to [laces I never imaged I could go. I now believe in myself a lot more than I ever did before. I have learnt to trust my body.
All of these things I would never be able to do without Ben. This is my journey and I want Ben along for the ride.
